Hence, the water used in the making of Shat Dhaut Ghrit is infused with the magical energies of this auspicious day. Additionally, the full moon is associated with Soma, the nectar of immortality which symbolises nourishment and rejuvenation. This aligns with the intention of creating Shat Dhaut Ghrit, which is to nourish and heal the skin.

This magical cream is made traditionally using an ancient process of “Dhauta Samskara”, wherein pure Gir Cow A2 Ghee is washed 100 times in a sacred copper vessel in the aura of divine mantra chants on a full moon day.

Using the Right Quality of Ghee
We use the highest quality Gir Cow A2 Bilona Ghee prepared at our own farm. For optimal results, it’s essential to use the right kind of ghee.

Washing Ghee with Water
We take ghee in a pure copper vessel and pour cold water over it. Then we wash this ghee by swirling the mixture gently, doing 100 rotations.

Straining the Water
Once 100 rotations are completed, we carefully skim off the water and then again pour fresh cold water. It is done to reduce the increased temperature caused by swirling and to remove the impurities.

Repeat Washing Process
We repeat steps 2 and 3 a hundred times, ensuring thorough washing of the ghee. This process reduces the particle size of the ghee making it easier to penetrate deeper into the skin. Result is a smooth and light weight cream.

In the end, to enhance the therapeutic value and the fragrance, we infuse Shat Dhaut Ghrit with pure sandalwood oil, rose essential oil and saffron.

Directions To Use
Apply the cream on a clean face and massage it in small circular motion. It can be used both as a day cream and a night cream.
It can be used as a full body moisturiser as well as for massages.
Apply a generous amount on the affected area and leave it. The skin will completely absorb the cream. For best results apply twice daily. Usually within 48 days the results start to show.

Shat Dhaut Ghrit should be stored below 27 deg C. If that’s not possible you can refrigerate it. It comes with a shelf life of one year.
- One thing is the process involved in preparing authentic Shat Dhaut Ghrit is very time consuming and labour intensive. It takes about 6-7 hours to complete the ten thousand rotations.
- Second is the quality of ingredients used. We use the highest quality Gir Cow A2 Bilona Ghee which we prepare at our own farm. We use pure Sandalwood oil which is also of the highest quality having Santalol content above 90%. It costs about Rs. 1.5 Lakhs per litre. So is true for our rose essential oil and saffron.
- Full moon Shat Dhaut Ghrit is priced slightly higher than the regular one because it can only prepared once in a month. Hence, its available in very limited quantities.
If the exposure to sun is mild then you can definitely apply it before going out as Shat Dhaut Ghrit also works as a mild sunscreen and protects you from the harmful UV rays. Dust is also not a problem, as this cream gets completely absorbed in the skin and you won’t have an oily skin which will gather the dust.
